Haman to Release Its Debut Album

Persianews, Elham Mohiti: The band Haman , whose name is drawn from a symbol of Iranian beauty, was formed in 2003 under the leadership of Ashoor Moradian. In 2005, after receiving a permit to release its first album, “Hich Kas” (Nobody), the band officially began its activity, although that album was never released.
Haman started out playing space rock, but over time, as the members’ tastes changed, it leaned toward progressive rock; today its main style remains space rock blended with pop.
The band’s members are Ashoor Zafar Moradian (drums), who besides Haman plays in the orchestras of Mazyar Fallahi and Dariush Khajeh Nouri and has led Haman since 2003; Milad Jowzi (bass guitar), a core member of Mazyar Fallahi’s band, who has worked with Haman since 2009; Amir Ahmadi (guitar), since 2007; Sina Mousavi (vocals and guitar), since 2009; and Afshin Aram (keyboards), since 2003. These are the band’s core players, and each has worked with many well-known artists over the course of their career.
To date, Haman has released four singles: “Chaharshanbe Suri” (Fire Festival, instrumental) in 2008, “Parvaz” (Flight) in 2011, “Farda-ye Roshan” (Tomorrow Is Bright), in memory of the victims of the 2012 Azerbaijan earthquake, and “Khab-e Roya” (Dream) in 2013. The lyrics of three of them (“Flight,” “Tomorrow Is Bright” and “Dream”) were written by Sina Mousavi. The melody of “Chaharshanbe Suri” was composed by Pouyan Tavakolian, that of “Flight” by Amir Ahmadi, and those of “Tomorrow Is Bright” and “Dream” by Sina Mousavi; all the tracks were arranged collectively by the band.
In 2011, Haman also performed on two nights for a charity concert. The band is currently working on its first album, which has passed the final stages of the permit process.
Notably, the well-known lyricist Hassan Alishiri is collaborating with Haman on this album, which will be released this year by Sooteh Delan, headed by Mirza Bagherian.
