Music-e Pars – Paria Heyrati: On January 19, 2014, coinciding with the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad, Mazyar Fallahi took the stage at the Milad Hall of the Tehran International Exhibition Center.

Barely five minutes after the doors opened,  the hall had no empty seats left, packed with fans determined to make it a great  and memorable night. The first thing that caught the eye on entering was the snowy stage, designed like a park with plenty of snow-covered trees,benches and tall street lamps. 

An introductory clip for “Avaye Forouhar” was screened, then Mazyar Fallahi’s band walked on stage dressed all in black while the song «For Your Intoxicating Gaze» (Ghorboon-e Mast-e Negahat) was sung from backstage. As Mazyar entered, dressed all in white, snow fell on the stage and completed the wintry scene.

The first solo of the night went to «Davood Jafari», whose accordion playing, as always, won the audience’s applause. Mazyar returned to the stage and performed «Romantic» (Asheghooneh), «Scarecrow» (Matarsak) and «Keepsake Photo» (Aks-e Yadegari), after which it was the turn of the band’s guitarist, «Milad Nodast», to play a solo.

Next came «Leyli’s Majnun» (Majnoon-e Leyli) and «One Day Clear, One Day Cloudy» (Ye Rooz Safi, Ye Rooz Abri), followed by «Damn Me» (Lanat Be Man), during which the crowd sang louder than Fallahi himself. «I Love You» (Toro Doost Daram) was the next song of the night. Then came the surprise: Fallahi’s new song, «Be My Guest» (Mehmoon-e Man Bash), performed as a duet with «Mohammadreza Alimardani», whom Mazyar introduced as the genius of Iranian dubbing.

With the click of «Ashoor Moradian»’s drumsticks, it was time for «Real Dream» (Royaye Vagheyi). When the song ended, Mazyar asked the audience to perform it once more, and everyone began to sing together. The next solo went to «Siamak Panahi», the band’s newly added percussionist.

«No Objection» (Harfi Nist) was also performed as a sing-along with the audience, and then it was the turn of violinist «Babak Imani» to play his solo. «Happiness» (Khoshbakhti), «For Baran» (Baraye Baran), «Frozen Heart» (Ghalb-e Yakhi), «Moments» (Lahzeha), «Father» (Pedar), «Last Breath» (Akharin Nafas) and «Lady of Dreams» (Banooye Khiyal) followed one after another, and then came «Leila», which Mazyar dedicated to all the Leilas of this land. It should be said that the clip made for this song was superb and conveyed its meaning perfectly. Finally, as at every one of Mazyar’s concerts, «It’s a Lie» (Dorooghe) closed the show.

«Ayman Khorasani Rad» on electric guitar, «Milad Jowzi» on bass guitar and «Navid Eskandar» on keyboards completed the line-up.
