Ashoor Moradian in conversation with Music-e Fars:       

Join the Campaign to Save the Historic Timareh Region

Music-e Fars – Sara Sadeghi: Ashoor Zafar Moradian, leader of Haman , which recently released the music video “I Leap Over the World” (Az Roo-ye Donya Miparam), spoke to Music-e Fars about the band’s work.

Ashoor Moradian told Music-e Fars: “Haman is a rock band that started out in 2003, and in 2011 we played a charity concert for cancer patients.”

He added: “Many people have worked with Haman over the years. Milad Jowzi (bass and arranger) joined in 2009; last year Pedram Niknafas (vocals and composer) and Khashayar Jowzi (guitar) joined; and Afshin Aram (keyboards and sound engineer) has been with Haman from the very beginning.”

The band leader went on to talk about the albums the band has recorded: “Over the years Haman has completed three albums, but because of changing tastes, shifts in the prevailing music scene and line-up changes at various points, none of them was ever released.

After our singer and one of the members changed, my bandmates and I decided to release a new album with new tracks.”

He continued: “We finished and released two tracks from this album, followed by the music video “I Leap Over the World”, which came out on December 25, 2016; the song itself had actually been released online back in October 2016.”

Moradian also spoke about working with some of the country’s best-known lyricists: “Hassan Alishiri, Peyman Alaei and Kian Iraji helped us with the lyrics, and the publisher  Avaye Sooteh Delan, run by Mr. Mirza Bagherian, supported us with permits and distribution.”

Finally, the drummer talked about the music video “I Leap Over the World”: “The video was shot in the ancient region of Timareh.

The ancient Timareh region lies in Markazi Province, in Khomein County. Though it dates back some 400,000 years, it remains sadly neglected and little known.

In summer 2016 Haman joined the campaign to save the historic Timareh region,  and we decided to do something to support and  promote the area.

We hope other artists and prominent figures will join this campaign too.”
