Second “Pearl” Drums Specialist Seminar

 The first specialist drum seminar focused on Pearl drums was held by Ashoor Zafar Moradian, the company’s Iranian artist.

This was the first specialist seminar on the technology, woods and alloys used to build drums and hardware. It centred on drums from the Pearl company and was held with the support of Serna, the brand’s exclusive representative in Iran.

According to Iranian Drummer, the seminar, held on March 10 at Serna Hall, hosted veteran masters and drew an enthusiastic turnout of drummers from all over Iran. Over three hours, it covered the types of wood used in drum making, different techniques for pressing and cutting plies, and the special glues used to bond them.

As an endorsed artist of this major company, Ashoor Zafar Moradian shared comprehensive and useful information, successfully conveying the advantages of the Pearl brand to the audience and guiding players in choosing the instrument that suits them best. 

On pedals, one of the most personal parts of any player’s setup, participants received extensive and detailed information on the features of Pearl pedals and the alloys used in its hardware, which attracted great interest.

The final part of the seminar was devoted to Pearl’s electronic pads and modules, which were explained in depth.

 During the seminar, Ashoor performed a piece by Alireza Ashrafpour in 7/8 time, blending the feel of traditional Iranian music with rock. To close the event, Ashoor also played along to a track by Haman (Ashoor Moradian’s band) on a Pearl electronic kit, to warm applause from the audience.
